The Fantastic Pavilion wants to give a shout-out to Pressman Film, one of our 2026 sponsors. We recommend you to add to your watch list the company’s movies Bad Lieutenant: Tokyo (2026) and Dead Man’s Wire (2025).
Directed by the great Japanese master Takashi Miike, Bad Lieutenant: Tokyo is certainly a new take on Abel Ferrara’s 1992 film, which was previously remade by Werner Herzog. Bad Lieutenant: Tokyo, featuring Shun Oguri and Lily James, is set to be distributed in the U.S. by NEON Rated later this year. Miike promised to create “unforgettable entertainment,” without “tricks” nor “gimmicks.”

Dead Man’s Wire, on the other hand, is the latest feature from acclaimed director Gus Vant Sant. Dead Man’s Wire, starring Bill Skarsgård (Nosferatu, It), premiered last year at the Venice International Film Festival and now it’s heading to Netflix on May 28. Van Sant has said that it’s a “true crime story, centred on the desperate actions of one man, Tony Kiritsis, in 1977. Feeling betrayed by his mortgage company, and convinced they were exploiting him at his most vulnerable, he took drastic measures in a bid to take back control.”

And let’s not forget that Pressman Film is the company behind all-time classics like Brian De Palma’s Phantom of the Paradise (1974), the slasher Christmas Evil (1980), and Alex Proyas’ The Crow (1994).
