The first official teaser trailer for James Gunn’s highly anticipated Superman (2025) was unleashed today. In it we can see David Corenswet as Superman/Clark Kent, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, as well as the beloved dog Krypto in action. Gunn’s movie, which is part of the new DC Universe, will be screening in theaters from July 9, 2025.

A couple of images from the sci-fi horror flick M3GAN 2.0 (2025) were published via Entertainment Weekly. They feature the titular killer robot doll and the young actress Violet McGraw, who reprises her role from the 2022 original movie. M3GAN 2.0 is set to hit theaters on June 27.

A24 released the first trailers for two of their 2025 movies: Death of a Unicorn (2025) – in which Jenna Ortega and Paul Rudd, among other cast members, deal with actual unicorns – and Warfare (2025), a collaboration between Iraq War veteran Ray Mendoza and British genre auteur Alex Garland.

The Damned (2024) is the debut feature from Thordur Palsson, who previously created the Netflix series The Valhalla Murders. A horror film set in the 19th century, The Damned follows “Eva (Odessa Young) and her crew as they come across a shipwreck and are faced with the moral dilemma to either help or prioritize their own survival.” The Damned celebrated its world premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival and is now heading to theaters in the UK and Ireland on January 10. The Library of Congress revealed the list of 2024 inductees to the National Film Registry. Tobe Hooper’s masterpiece The Texas Chain Saw Massacre (1974) is one of them, as well as Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan (1982). Each of the inductees were selected for their “cultural, historic or aesthetic importance to preserve the nation’s film heritage.”

Stuart Gordon’s horror classic Re-Animator (1985) has been remastered in 4K in time for its 40th anniversary. Ignite Films and Eagle Rock Pictures will release four different editions on April 3, including a limited edition box set that features a book and a bubblehead, among other goodies and extras. Pre-orders are now open. 

The Criterion Collection announced their March releases and they include a couple of genre movies: Godzilla vs. Biollante (Gojira vs. Biorante, 1989) – which marks the first Godzilla flick from the Heisei era to join the collection – and Night Moves (1975), Arthur Penn’s neonoir starring Gene Hackman.
