The Uruguayan video game Fading Luna is set to be showcased at the upcoming third edition of the Fantastic Pavilion – within the Marché du Film in Cannes (May 13-21) –, as it won last year the Fantastic Pavilion Award at Maquinitas, Ventana Sur’s video game platform.
This will allow Fading Luna to connect with international studios, publishers and producers, as the Fantastic Pavilion is a “space for genre cinema, new narrative formats, and the intersection between mediums such as video games, animation, and immersive experiences.”
About the game: “Fading Luna is a 3D action-adventure game offering a dual experience: in the “real world,” the player explores an introspective and emotional journey alongside Luna. Upon crossing a magical portal, chaos erupts in the mirror world, where everything is reversed, and the player must confront the shadows of those they once knew. This dual mechanic, balancing narrative exploration and dynamic combat, creates a symbolic universe where identity, memory, and darkness are deeply intertwined.”
About the studio: “Luminara Game Studio is an independent video game studio based in Montevideo, Uruguay. Their mission is to craft unforgettable player experiences by blending deep, emotionally-driven stories with engaging gameplay. Creative team: Hernán Azambuya (co-founder, artist), Andrés Kent (co-founder, programmer).”
